People are often my greatest source of inspiration. This portrait began after seeing a selfie of a friend. I started painting without a fixed destination, allowing the process itself to guide the work.
My intention was to capture his cheerful, outgoing spirit. To reflect that energy, I moved away from rigid lines, softening the forms and letting the brushwork flow more freely. I placed him in an imagined vacation landscape, surrounded by drifting clouds that move around and through him, expressing a sense of relaxation, freedom, and carefree joy.
Rather than telling a complete story, I wanted to leave space for interpretation. The rest belongs to the viewer to discover their own narrative and meaning within the painting.
